Junior Book Nook Club

How It Works

The Junior Book Nook Club encourages and rewards primary school children for reading and reviewing books.
When joining, each child will receive a Reading Log booklet. After each review, the child brings their log into The Book Nook to have it stamped and on completion of their first three reviews, they are awarded a Bronze Certificate. Four further reviews reaches Silver level and then five more to achieve Gold.
Our booklets have been specially designed by local Stewarton resident Petra Baillie, who is a children’s author, illustrator and primary school teacher. Petra kindly designed and illustrated different reading logs and certificates to be age appropriate for all primary school ages.

Monthly Meetings

We hold monthly meetings for Junior BookNookers (P4-7) in The Book Nook.
There will be a storytelling session and then children will be encouraged to tell others about the book they are reading or have enjoyed (absolutely no pressure to talk though!) and can fill out a section on their reading log.
Children will be provided with a juice/water and snack.
Please note there is a £3 fee.
(If the fee would be a challenge for you, please speak to Sarah in confidence).
You can book your child(ren) in using the button below.
